If there is one thing that I learned from Fashion Week, it is that fashion is about being daring. Daring can mean wearing a bright color in the fall or as in the case of Aminaka Wilmont’s designs, wearing shoes that thread the line between comfortable and fashionable.

Plaid is one of those designs that at times is difficult to wear. When the word “plaid” is mentioned, I envision school uniforms, lumberjacks and styles found in Europe. Diane von Furstenberg took plaid to a new level though when she created the Glasgow blouse.
This particular top is available at Saks Fifth Avenue. It looks great with nearly any shade of brown, even a burnt sierra color. In addition, you can wear this particular top with a pair of skinny jeans and heels and accessorize it with a white bangle bracelet (perhaps from Amrita Singh).
