If there is one thing that I learned from Fashion Week, it is that fashion is about being daring. Daring can mean wearing a bright color in the fall or as in the case of Aminaka Wilmont’s designs, wearing shoes that thread the line between comfortable and fashionable.

Plaid is one of those designs that at times is difficult to wear. When the word “plaid” is mentioned, I envision school uniforms, lumberjacks and styles found in Europe. Diane von Furstenberg took plaid to a new level though when she created the Glasgow blouse.

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t written in a few days. I’ve been in New York this past weekend, with my good friend, Elizabeth Weber. While Elizabeth came to New York for some down time, needless to say, we didn’t relax but engaged in some retail therapy and shopped until we dropped!










We spent a great deal of time trying on outfits by designer, Diane von Furstenberg, who was in town for New York Fashion week. Diane von Furstenberg is a famed designed who has created such classics as the wrap dress. What is great about her outfits is that they aren’t only available at exclusive boutiques. Instead, you can also find her outfits at Saks Fifth Avenue, a Market America partner store!















In particular, we liked the Obi-Belt Wool dress for $395. This is a great dress for the Fall and is available from Saks!

Two other dresses that we both loved were the Tanner Dress (third from the left for $465) and the Wagner Lace Dress (available for $385).

While the Tanner Dress is more sophisticated, the Wagner Lace Dress is edgier.
