The latest addition to the ever expanding M.J. empire is the recession-friendly basics line Jacob by Marc Jacobs, which hit stores this past week. Everything—with the exception of a set of straw fedoras—is under $100, including a cashmere sweater, some playfully bright bangles, even a leather-trimmed tote. But as much as I love the idea of accessible Marc Jacobs, I’m still a little torn over just how wide this designer can spread himself and still feel fresh and innovative. I mean, a T-shirt can be anywhere from $10 to $1000 depending on which level you want to shop at. What do you think?

This past week, I held a Motives® Muse Event in New York. The event was phenomenal, as everyone absolutely loved Motives® by Loren Ridinger make up. What an exciting few days it has been! I’m absolutely exhausted, but I feel wonderful! Last night, I hosted the first-ever Motives by Loren Ridinger Muse event for beauty editors from some of the top fashion and beauty magazines out there. I’m talking Good Housekeeping, Lucky, SELF, Allure, US Weekly — it was fantastic! I showed several looks inspired by some of the most gorgeous women in history–think Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, etc. The editors were very impressed with the line. I can’t wait to share photos from the fabulous event with you. I’ll upload them for you as soon as I decompress, whew! Here are some images from the event invitation to tide you over. Until then, I’m going to reward myself with a nice, warm bubble bath and a long nap!
