As another year comes to a close, I always like to look back and remember the wild, fun, crazy things that happened over the last 365 days. And though there are plenty of memories I’ll be taking with me, there are certain ridiculous fashion trends I’d be more than happy to leave behind. Case-in-point:
Celebrities as Couture Designers. Is nothing sacred anymore?
Mint Green Nail Polish. I’m on board with the darker hues, but this antique-y shade just isn’t flattering on anyone.
Infomercials on the Catwalk. Yes. It was completely hilarious to see Snuggies attempt to put on a fashion show during New York Fashion Week, but again I have to point out that it cheapens the whole event.
Pendleton Collaborations. Cute while it lasted. But I’m officially deeming this plaid overload done.
What trends are you definitely not taking with you into the new year?

British fashion maverick and punk-rock icon Vivienne Westwood has just announced that she’s creating a new line of denim with one of America’s classic brands, Lee Jeans (Vivienne Westwood is the designer of the wedding gown Carrie wears in the Sex and the City movie, in case you didn’t know!). An unlikely pairing, but the shock factor is one of Westwood’s trademarks. Her other trademark is a superfeminine, baroquely sexy silhouette, so expect her to take Lee in a fresh new direction. I can’t wait to see the results!

Now, you: What brand of jeans makes your perfect fit?

So excited for New Year’s Eve! What are you all planning on doing? More importantly… what are you wearing? I am in love with my New Year’s outfit – it’s actually Amber’s first piece of her new collection L.I.F.E. – so I’m a proud mama :) There will also be a higher-end line Lumiére, both out in 2010. She’s teamed up with Paula Bradley, who has worked with Beyonce and Rihanna on their stage outfits, to bring her design to life. Check out the sketch:

I’ll be heading over to the boat later to ring in the new year with family and friends! Mike Piazza, Jessica Simpson, Paulina Rubio, and everyone else – I’ll be seeing you soon!! My Myfashioncents readers, have an amazing night tonight – tell me about your plans :)

PS: We’re crossing our fingers to have a fabulous artist come and bring some musical entertainment to Utopia III tonight – guess who? I’ll let you know…
Call me old fashioned, but I look forward to buying a new calendar every year! Even with all the high-tech ways to keep your schedule these days, I still like having a physical calendar at my desk. I usually go with something a bit artsy, but I’m also loving the stackable Lego calendar I found. You rearrange the pieces every month so that the dates match up with the days of the week (so fun). I might have to be extra old fashioned this year and buy two!
Feather Drawings, $30 at The Wild Unknown
Puzzle Calendar, $12.50 at the Paper Source
Vintage French Posters, $6.99 at MOMA Store
Do you guys keep a physical calendar or has your Blackberry taken over??

Loren
Just heard Lindsay Lohan is expanding her 6126 leggings line into clothing during 2010. I think this is a brave decision after her role at Ungaro has created such… controversy. But, we shall see! The leggings are a bit risque for my taste, so it should be interesting to see how this new venture pans out. Do you own any 6126?

Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Macy’s and specialty stores will carry the clothing line in fall 2010 (same places that carry the leggings).

Loren
