Self Tanning(Image via tvlesson.com)
Even the most careful self-tanning expert misses a spot every now and again, so here are a few tips for getting rid of those pesky dark streaks as quickly as humanly possible.

For minor glitches: So your feet look like you’ve been traipsing through the mud, and you may have a solid brown line along one elbow that you can’t really see, no problem.

  1. Over moisturize the problem areas.
  2. Though your first instinct may be to buy the strongest exfoliant
and harshest loofah you can find and start scrubbing, you must resist that urge unless you want irritated and streaked skin. Instead, buy a gentle exfoliating scrub and glove. A glove works better than a loofah here because it allows you to really get into tricky spots.
  3. Scrub problem areas in a gentle, circular motion twice daily until
gone. Apply moisturizer after each session. This combination sloughs off dead streaked skin, while promoting the healthy growth of new cells to replace them. Streaks should be gone in two days!

For major, Christina Aguilera-scale mistakes: You bought the shade you thought you wanted, and now you’re oranger than your Halloween pumpkin. Here’s what you do:

  1. Invest in an actual Tan Remover. These products usually involve
harsher chemicals, which is why I don’t suggest using it for minor mistakes.
  2. Moisturize. I can’t say this enough!
  3. Apply the tan remover all over using a loofah glove and small
circular motions. You do not need to press hard and should see the effects straight away.
  4. Be careful to spread the product and scrub evenly. There is the
potential to cause reverse streaking here!
  5. This is not a total eraser, but you should be lighter after one use
nd back to normal in 3 days.

Part of me really wants to believe this is a photoshopped image of Christina and that she would have the sense never to walk out in public looking like that…..
It makes me never want to use self tanner again.
