Fit for a Queen

I’ve always admired Queen Latifah’s ability to make clothes work for her—while still looking fashionable and amazing. So I recently took a moment to figure out how exactly she pulls it off. Here’s what I came up with:

One:

It’s all about the waist! Don’t hide in drapey clothes that hang straight from your shoulders to your knees. Look for pieces that define your natural waistline.

Two:

Jeans are tough no matter what your size, but a perfect-fitting wide-leg jean is always key. Make sure you have a snug fit through the butt and that the legs have a slight a-line (not flare!) cut.

Three:

Always opt for the knock-out evening dress. Show off those shoulders and highlight those curves. Just be sure to watch the fit. Too tight will only make you look uncomfortable.

Do you have any foolproof rules to dressing for your body? I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Lots of love,

Loren
