Awhile back I received an email about Kara Dioguardi’s purple eye makeup on American Idol, so I wrote up a post and it turned out to be a huge hit! This morning, new MyFashionCents reader Lisa (welcome!) wrote in and wanted to know how to get this look Kara was sporting on the latest episode:
She seems to follow the usual smokey eye formula, yet changes up the color scheme to keep it interesting! This time around, we’re using mochas, browns, and blacks!
- Start with Motives Eye Base
- Add Whipped Cream (Pearlized) shadow to inner corners and Sweet Chocolate shadow to the outer corners. Blend well!
- Next, use Toast – also to the outer corners, using a circular motion and blending into the crease
- Highlight your brow bone by dusting on Latte shadow
- Lots of dark liner! Use Kohl Eyeliner in Onyx
- Finish by applying 2 coats of Lustrafy High Definition Mascara in Onyx
Don’t be afraid to use bronzer! You need to balance out the dramatic eyes… complete the look with a nude lip.
