Steal This Look: Emily Blunt’s Lilac Eyes at the Golden Globes

January 26th // Comment Here

I was completely blown away by Emily Blunt’s soft, feminine hair and makeup at the Golden Globes. To be honest, I barely recognized her until her name was announced on the red carpet. I think we’re all used to seeing her work an edgier look, and well, it turns out that romantic and pretty suits her just fine. It takes guts to stick with one eye shadow shade—especially one this ultra-light—but she really pulled it off without losing depth at all. A couple of things to remember if you’re trying to do this at home:

Start with a good base, like Motives Eye Base. When you’re using a single eye shadow shade, any caking at all will be even more noticeable!

Pick something sheer with a bit of sparkle, which will add the dimension you’re missing out. I love Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Studio 54 for something like this.

Finally, piling on too much liner or mascara will throw off the whole effect. A thin line along your top lid using Motives new Liquid Liner is all you need.
