Remember way back when I wrote a post about Venus William’s controversial tennis outfit at the Sony Ericsson tournament? Well, at last week’s French Open, Venus took it one step further:
Yes, the top is sheer. And, yes, those are nude-colored shorts. The girl is in amazing shape… however I don’t think I could rock risqué lingerie while playing sports no matter how confident I am.

I don’t see anything too risque about this outfit! Her breasts are MORE covered than most tennis outfits I see and her shorts cover her whole butt! I still see players wearing old fashioned panty-style underneath and although I’m NOT complaining that their butt-cheeks start hanging out as the fabric rises…Venus is wearing more of a boy-short style and it covers MORE.
Yes it’s ‘skin-tone’, and if you squint your eyes and are pervy and bothered by the human form, you may pretend or fantasize that she’s wearing less.

I love to watch the Williams sisters play tennis. They are beautiful, powerful women on the court, but I could not let my children watch her in these outfits. Too trashy, too much booty haning out. Too bad.

I couldn’t do it, either, Loren. Not even if I had the body to pull it off. On the other hand, what an effective way to distract the opponent.
Remember John MacEnro (sp?)? He used to be considered colorful, and he often got in trouble for distracting his opponents because he would swear on the courts. This clothing strikes me the same way… like she is saying dirty words on the tennis courts.

she’s definitely in GREAT shape, but I just don’t think it’s appropriate to wear lingerie-like clothes when playing sports like this…just my opinion.
