My Best & Worst Red Carpet Picks for the 2010 Oscars!

March 8th // 3 Comments

Long, sweeping and strapless were adjectives to define the majority of dresses seen on the red carpet last night. I thought Miley Cyrus (wearing Jenny Packham) and Penelope Cruz (wearing Donna Karan) looked stunning in this trend. The style of Miley’s top kept the design youthful enough for her, don’t you think?

Some celebs took risks and rocked huge accents, like the multicolored train on Zoe Saldana’s Givenchy gown or Jennifer Lopez’s icy Armani PrivĂ© creation – the neckline detail is gorgeous!

Some looked inspired by the Academy Award statue itself – take note Sandra Bullock (wearing Marchesa) and Kate Winslet (wearing YSL):

And last but not least, my worst dressed picks! I thought that the silhouette of Charlize Theron’s plum gown looked lovely on her, however the color – and the roses on her chest area? – were all wrong! Mariah Carey also gets my vote for Worst Dressed. I felt as though the off-the-shoulder and high slit were too much for one dress, and overall, was definitely not Oscar worthy.

Do you have a best or worst dressed pick of your own? Who?

I really disliked Sandra Bullock’s hair. The neckline of her dress is beautiful and she ruined it by wearing her hair over it.

I loved the fact that Sandra won, but the make-up was making me crazy!!!! She looked awful!

Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz looked gorgeous. Miley Cyrus’ dress was nice but I couldn’t handle her slouching. It made the dress look bad on top.

And you were right on the money with your worst picked dresses, although there were more to add to the list.

It really wasn’t an impressive year.

Cameron Diaz looked great in one of Victoria Beckham’s pieces. That was impressive!

It was hard to find fault with too many dresses this year. Almost everyone looked amazing. My favorites were Penelope Cruz in that STUNNING red gown and Sandra Bullock was as beuatiful as I’ve ever seen her. Diane Kruger was another big hit with me in Chanel Haute Couture.

I have no idea what Charlize theron was thinking. I have no words to express my disappoint in her judgement and anyone lese who saw her leaving the house in that thing. The one dress I really hated was Sarah Jessica Parker’s Chanel Couture. It was shapeless and highly unflattering to her grogeous figure. It struck me that it loked like she had nothing to wear and ripped the shower curtain down, rod and all, and wrapped it around herself.
