Notes from the Tent: Crushing on Velvet

Truth be told, velvet is not a fabric I’ve paid much attention to in the past. I’m more of a silk or cashmere fan. But it only took a few days of shows to realize that velvet is not going to be a fabric so easily ignored come fall. The colors just seem so much more saturated in this plush fabric—even a pair of pinkish-white leggings at Erin Fetherstone came to life. Here are a few of my favorite looks so far (including a totally knockout dress from Nanette Lepore).
