How To Tip – Dressing Around Coral

March 30th // 5 Comments

A few weeks ago I wrote a post about Iman and Kristen Stewart looking amazing in bright coral dresses. Ever since I’ve seen coral pieces all over the place. Clearly it’s a huge trend for spring and actually a lot more versatile than you might think. Don’t be intimidated by its brightness, its impact totally depends on what you pair it with. For instance, white or black is just going to make bright coral look brighter. Try these unexpected combinations instead:

Coral and Army Green

This earthy green color acts as a neutral—like khaki or brown—and doesn’t pick up the red tones in coral that can make it look muddy.

Coral and Raspberry

Though similar, these two shades actually work to neutralize each other. The effect is dramatic without being polarizing.

Coral and Seafoam

This pale greenish-blue shade is another huge trend this season. Together, this combo feels cool and beachy.

  3. GREAT post Lauren! Thanks! The other tip for wearing is coral is that there are many different shades available. If you look good in yellow, choose the yellowy coral shade. If you look better in red (like i do) avoid the yellowy ones and go for the redder shades. I love brights, but i used to avoid this color altogether before working this out. Hope others get brave and try it out this season! <3

Coral and turquoise are two shades that all skin tones can wear. But I especially like the idea of pairing it with the army green.
