Shorts with tights reappear every winter and every winter I don’t know to feel about it. Is it the comfort factor that makes wearing shorts with tights so popular? I personally prefer the look of a skirt or dress with opaque or textured tights but can understand the need to switch it up with denim, tweed and velvet shorts instead. Do you wear shorts with tights when the weather turns colder?

I don’t like the look of blue denim on black tights, actually I hate the blue denim with black tights, to me it’s a fashion faux-pas.
However, Black shorts with black tights works, I like that. Like the bottom far right picture is alright with black on black. It gives a boyish chic

My wife actually love wearing tights with short. She is comfortable with it and she advises my children to do the same thing. It is very appropriate when winter.

im not really comfortable with the idea of wearing tights with shorts.it just doesnt appeal to me.but you know some people can really pull it off.

@Neva Osborn: Speak for yourself. Don’t mandate for ALL of us “over 25″,what we should and shouldn’t wear. I am 29,twiggy thin, and also a wife and mother,and I wear short shorts all alone,AND I wear them with tights underneath. Age is not a factor,with this look(and many,really). It depends on the woman,her personality,style,and the way she carries herself. It always rankles me when people(usually women) pick some lame,arbitrary ‘age’ as to when you are deemed ‘too old’ to wear something,or have your hair a certain way,etc. Especially FOR arbitrary reasons. Maybe YOU don’t look attractive in shorts shorts,without the tights,but that’s YOU,so speak for YOU,and YOU alone. Don’t be jealous of those of us ‘over 25′ that look amazing in short shorts and bare legs. And to be honest,being young doesn’t mean you care ‘wear’ anything,or do any look. I personally think,irregardless of age,shorts,and especially short shorts, look really unappealing on anyone that isn’t thin to very thin. I especially think it looks bad on chubby women,overweight women,etc. But that’s MY opinion,and I’m not going to mandate and play Fashion Police/Dictator and tell people what they should wear.

very cute i really like this however i think age comes into play the way you wear it i think women under 24 can wear the really short shorts with or without tights and look cute and fashionable but as we as women get older we need to cover a little more so i think any women that is over 25 can wear this is with a bit longer shorts still very cute but much more elegant. The women in the 1st photo on the left did a great job with that. But yes this is very i have never tried this but i would love to soon!!!

My 21-year-old daughter wears tights with shorts and it looks great! Don’t think it would look so good on her over 50 mom!
