Lovely and loyal reader Nikki wrote in asking me about proper beach wedding attire for an upcoming wedding she is going to in Mexico (luckyyy!). Here’s my advice for creating the perfect beach wedding look for Nikki and her husband:
For Nikki>> nothing says beach wedding more than a simple, tropical-colored maxi dress and I personally love this coral option from ASOS ($59). Paired with a flat, gold sandal ($10), you will look like you’re on the beach to actually attend an event, not get a tan.
For the husband>> Khaki pants ($33), a crisp, white button down shirt ($65) and leather flip flops ($40) are a classic combination for men attending a beach wedding. Just make sure to undo a few top buttons and roll up the sleeves so that you appear relaxed, not stuffy.

LOVES your suggestions! Last year, my (Big) sorority sister got married at my mom’s house in Cabo. I was the maid of honor and, aside from assuming the “normal” responsibilities of “the maid”, hehe, I, too, helped my Kappa sister, Katie, with her dress, as she had never been to Cabo (since we’re so close, my mom threw the wedding for her). I suggested an, almost-identical maxi dress with similar sandals–w/a lil’ touch of bling. I took on the responsibility of working with the other bridesmaids to find flattering, casual dresses–Katie wanted each bridesmaid to wear a different maxi dress (w/a different color scheme). I am a diehard Gypsy05 fan and contacted (w/permission from their twitter site, as we follow one another) the company’s Headquarter Office, where I received AMAZING advice: I printed out the lookbook, took down the girls’ measurements & received one-on-one help, thanks to their amazing customer service reps.! I wish I had a picture to upload b/c the wedding was GORG.!
