Up and coming designer Funlayo Deri just sent me a gorgeous black dress (should I wear it at convention?) so I had to share some of my favorites from her Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Her designs are very sophisticated with a modern, trendy twist, which I love! I also think it’s amazing that you can work with the Funlayo Deri team to tailor any piece to your exact measurements or contact her for a completely custom dress. So unique!

“Inspiration for the Spring/Summer 2012 collection comes from contemporary architectural structures. Elements of rigid, edgy structures were combined, then transformed to softer, fluid lines and placed in ways which complement the female form. The juxtaposition of different silhouettes, colours, fabrics and textures was used to enhance the clarity of each design. Produced in silk, taffeta, organza and delicate, embroidered lace and chiffon, this collection features exquisite dresses, trousers, shorts and jackets in different shades of nudes, metallics and bright colours.”

This is a little confusing. At the top there are 3 photos. If the dress Loren is thinking about wearing is the one with the collar, then yes I hope she will war it to convention.
Midway down the page is another dress, black, that seems to be made from circles sewn together. That might not be as elegant as Loren usually wears to Convention. Can’t wait to see what her decision will be.

I like the dresses they are beautiful. How do I get you to recognize my hand drawn designs. Your opinion is very important to me, since you are in the fashion world and you do try to recognize the upcoming designers. I hope to hear from you soon, because you don’t know how much it would mean to me.
