What’s the secret to strong, gorgeous brows? Using two shades of brow powder to create a softer, more natural effect that’s tailored to your coloring. If you’re blonde or have sparse brows, for example, you might want to lean more on the lighter shade while filling in your arch. If your brows are naturally darker, you can use the deeper shade to perfect the line.

And start practicing: Strong, well-defined brows look beautiful all the time but are especially huge for fall!

Bare minimum, I need a great lip balm and a sheer mauve lipstick or gloss. Okay, in all honesty, I might throw an eye pencil in my bag, too, and maybe our Motives cream concealer… But lip balm, absolutely. This one is my favorite. It glides on easily, is super-moisturizing, offers a pretty sheen and tastes ever so slightly of tangerine. And lasts for ages. So good.
Motives Hydrating Lip Balm $17.50

Even my most macho guy friends are fans of tooth whitening – and it can make a HUGE improvement in your looks. Sadly, up to now, drugstore whiteners haven’t been known for their rapid turnaround: Lightening only happened in tiny increments, and you had to stick to the program for weeks to see results. Brighter whites and instant gratification required a pricy trip to the dentist. Surprisingly, however, Crest’s new 3D Whitestrips Professional Effects (now available at Walmart) have enhanced the at-home whitening process dramatically.
1) It’s easier: The strips stay put and don’t leave a messy residue, and you only have to wear them 30 minutes a day.
2) It’s much faster: You’ll see a much brighter smile after just 3 days, and achieve impressive, lasting, professional-level whitening in 20.
Simplicity at its best, no?

I always think my friend Jennifer Lopez looks amazing, and this particular photo is just another example. I love the way she paired shimmery eyes with glossy lips in the same shade of bronzey-peach.
It’s such a great evening look for summer or spring. You definitely need a dark skin tone or a tan to pull it off— otherwise the combination is going to wash you out completely—and you want to use a matte foundation to balance all the shininess in the shadow and the gloss. Here’s what you need to try it at home:
Motives Eye Candy Crème Eyeshadow in Butterscotch, $15.75
Motives Lip Shine in Candlelight, $10.50

Emma Stone is a Hollywood up-and-comer, who just appeared in the comedic horror flick, Zombieland. She recently showed up to a GQ event with a new hair color and absolutely perfect makeup.
The combination of lavender eyeshadow with a dark blue eyeliner is soft and dramatic. And, even though Emma wore it to an evening event, with a little less eyeliner, this is a look that could work all day long. Be sure to pick a shade that goes on semi-sheer, and don’t be afraid to dust a little all the way around your eye, like Emma did. Here’s what you need to try it at home:
Motives Pressed Eyeshadows in Studio 54, $12
Motives Kohl Eyeliner in Amethyst, $14
