A decade since her last album, Sade’s Soldier of Love is No. 1 on the charts. The singer hasn’t aged a day, and neither has her iconic style. And I love how her signature red lipstick/wrapped ponytail/skinny-gold-hoop earrings look works for day or night.

When you change your hair color (a la the newly-brunettes Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie) do you change your makeup, too? I find that it’s a terrific opportunity to experiment with lip, cheek and eye-shadow colors. (Your foundation, which needs to match your skin tone, should always stay a constant!!) Anyway, here’s my rule of thumb, which I learned from a makeup artist-friend: If you’re taking your hair in a brighter direction – strawberry blonde, coppery red or rich chestnut – a shift to softer, neutral shades on your eyes and lips can look amazing. (I love our bestselling Motives Lip Shine in Candlelight, $10.50.) Alternately, if you’re going blonder or darker, you can get away with bolder, more dramatic hues: red lips or a lush smoky eye.

I always take my hair a little darker in the winter. Am I wrong for feeling like, even in Miami, we should have a change of seasons, too?

Two of my great friends – Scott Barnes, an amazing Hollywood beauty expert, and Ken Paves, the celebrity hair stylist I mentioned last week – have partnered with Market America, allowing you to buy their superior products right on our website, giving you convenience and the opportunity to get paid to shop! Scott’s new book, About Face, and Ken’s hair tools are perfect gift options for your beauty-obsessed friends. Honestly, when I buy something for a friend from Scott or Ken I end up just buying two anyway (one for myself)!

I work really hard to make sure you all have the best online shopping experience possible with the hottest partners like Scott and Ken. I figure if celebrities can’t live without them – why should you?

xoxox,

Loren

I absolutely adore Ken Paves – he has definitely earned the media persona “hottest hairdresser in Hollywood.” Remember when he did Amber’s hair for the Latin Grammy’s? Gorgeous. You might know him best from his ads with Jessica Simpson for their Hairdo line of extensions and clips ins.

Ken Paves

If you’re looking to change up your hair routine, check out shopkenpaves.com. His advice, hair care and styling tools are top of the line -  I take this Travel Flat Iron with me everywhere!

Here’s a little déjà vu for you: Bon Jovi’s new record, The Circle, hit No. 1 on the radio this week – a spot they haven’t reached since 1988’s Slippery When Wet. The band has a new autobiography on the New York Times bestseller list, and a new documentary, too. So it’s officially a Bon Jovi moment! Let’s all pause here to remember some of Jon’s fashion highlights:

Which incarnation do you like? Or do you love them all?

I attended the 10th Annual Latin Grammy Awards last night in Las Vegas with my husband JR and daughter Amber and it was unbelievable. I wore this amazing sequin Diane von Furstenberg dress and shoes by Givenchy and Amber wore a custom dress along with Christian Louboutin booties that were crystal! Here’s a photo of Amber with our good friend and celeb hair stylist Ken Paves (both of them look gorgeous!) right before the show:

What a great night!

Hair accessories have become incredibly popular because they are such a simple way to express yourself.  Nicole Richie added a boho headpiece to her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry collection and Leighton Meester’s character on GossipGirl, Blair Waldorf, is almost never seen without her signature preppy headband. Which unique hair accessories do you prefer?

How many of you hate cleaning off your hairbrushes time and time again?

If you have lengthy hair, after a few uses, it is probably time to clean off that brush yet again.  Definitely very frustrating, especially if you’re getting ready for a big date or are pressed for time.

Enter the hairfreé™ self-cleaning hairbrush.  Just the other day, I was lucky enough to have a friend share this great product with me — and I figured I would take to my blog to do the same with everyone else!

Besides saving you from the monotonous task of cleaning off loose hairs, something I really liked about the hairfreé™ self-cleaning hairbrush is that I could replace my curling iron (many of you have surely burned your fingers trying to get your hair just right) because it has a built-in vent brush.

And it only gets better…while many of the brushes you’ve probably dropped a Jackson or two on are no longer around, the hairfreé™ self-cleaning hairbrush is reasonably priced from $10 to $16.

Think of all the time you’ll save (and money too)!

So I have to ask, how many of you are familiar with hairfreé™ self-cleaning hairbrush and what’s your experience been with them?

Love,

Loren
