There have been quite a few female celebs getting bad press lately for wearing high-waisted shorts/jeans/pants, but I have to say that I love the outfit Jessica Alba just wore to the Tribeca Film Festival Women’s Filmmaker Brunch in NYC. It is really easy to get this look for less, simply because you probably have almost everything you need already in your closet – except for the necklace and shorts!
Take your basic black tank, cardi, tights and heels and add these two gorgeous items for a chic look:

“Cardi coats” – as Old Navy likes to call them! – are everywhere this season and they are so versatile. My favorite is the short sleeve version, even if it might be a little impractical and not suited for the chilly weather. With that said, there are a couple of ways to wear a short sleeve sweater. Here is a great example of Jessica Alba recently wearing a short sleeve coat:

Layering is key! Wear a long sleeve fitted turtleneck or elbow-length gloves. If your sweater coat is big enough, you can even wear a smaller cardigan underneath, like Jessica is in the photo above.
