I was watching the news earlier and noticed that some parts of the US are in for some bad weather this weekend… but I believe that bright, cheery clothes are the next best thing to bright, cheery weather – and might actually inspire the sun to come out all on its own :) Here are a few pick-me-up staples to make your day sunny no matter what it happens to be doing outside.

Net-a-Porter Diane von Furstenberg glazed beach tote $75

Urban Outfitters, Kimchi blue D’Orsay flats $34

Want some luxe designer sandals without the sticker shock? Go the jelly route – available in a range of playful styles and colors, designer jelly sandals cost a fraction of the price of their leather counterparts. These three options are flirtatious and have a hint of glamour.

Net-a-Porter, Diane von Furstenberg Jaya jelly sandals $75

Neiman Marcus, Tory Burch Thora Jelly Flip Flop $65

Zappos, Burberry Jelly Thongs $125
Plus, you don’t have to worry about getting them wet (bring on the pool party!).

Suki Cheema, besides having a truly fun name to say, used to be the head print designer for Diane von Furstenberg. There’s a good chance if you’ve bought anything with a pattern from DVF in the last few years, Suki Cheema was the one who created it. And now, the Brooklyn-based artist is applying his skills to a whole other medium: home furnishings. His just launched line includes embroidered throw pillows, graphic rugs, cool quilts, even table linens.
You can check out the whole line here, but stay tuned for details on where to buy these lovely creations.

As you guys know, I was presented with the 2010 Fashion Group International Entrepreneur of the Year Award at FASHIONmiami a few weeks ago! I wanted to share some more information about FGI with you: they are the largest non-profit, global organization with members in the fashion and beauty industries like Anna Wintour, Diane von Fursentberg and Evelyn Lauder, just to name a few. It was a huge honor and certainly a highlight in my career :) Thanks for your continued support xoxo

The tribal look is a major trend for spring – and you don’t have to invest in a Rodarte warrior-princess dress to work the look into your wardrobe. The easiest way is with accessories. These Diane von Furstenberg cuffs, just $60 each, offer a bright ethnic touch that’s surprisingly versatile. They’re one of those secret-weapon accessories that can take an outfit from day to night.
Special bonus: Part of the sales go to Vital Voices, an organization that combats violence against women, and trains and empowers female entrepreneurs around the globe.
Can’t you see yourself wearing one (or more) of these?

Interesting scientific fact: You don’t need a padded pushup bra to enhance a daintily endowed chest. A frilly wrap top cinches in your waist, making your bust look bigger by comparison. Ruffles work in a different way, creating frothy volume that detracts from the lack of bustiness beneath. Finally, a belted halter top complements small chests perfectly, and highlights bare, sexy shoulders. I love all three of these options:

Diani Boutique, Diane von Furstenberg Magnificant Top $265

bebe Cascade Ruffled Halter $64

Banana Republic Silk Ruffle-Front Top $69.50

I attended the 10th Annual Latin Grammy Awards last night in Las Vegas with my husband JR and daughter Amber and it was unbelievable. I wore this amazing sequin Diane von Furstenberg dress and shoes by Givenchy and Amber wore a custom dress along with Christian Louboutin booties that were crystal! Here’s a photo of Amber with our good friend and celeb hair stylist Ken Paves (both of them look gorgeous!) right before the show:

Check us out during Alejandro Sanz and Alicia Keys’ performance at the 3:04 and 3:14 minute mark here : )
What a great night!
Lots of love,
