The Shoes of Spring 2014 NYFW

May 11th // 1 Comment

Looking for a trendy shoe to get you through the spring 2014 season? Have no fear; the ‘best of’ list is here! I’ve curated a collection of my favorite NYFW Spring ’14 runway shoes to offer the ultimate selection for the season. Pick your favorite one or two or even three because as Marilyn Monroe so famously said, “Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she’ll conquer the world!”

Sexy Mules: These classic pointy toe stilettos with an open heel offer an updated high fashion look to the traditional “clog.” These were featured in the Altuzarra NYFW Spring 2014 show.  Wear them with a straight leg pantsuit to the office for a classy fashion-forward look. White Pumps: As worn on the catwalk of the Cushnie et Ochs show, these effervescent soles are sure to keep you light on your feet. Pair with any other color dress or shirt, using the white as the accent color and stay away from muddy grass as much as possible! Eeek!Knee High Boot Sandals: Derek Lam knows how to put a twist on an existing trend. With extensive hardware and intricate leatherwork, these sandals were meant to make a statement from the beginning. Wear with skirts, dresses or shorts for a modern take on the gladiator sandal.

Ankle Cuff Heels: These gorgeous heels have some serious sass and pack a real sartorial punch! Pair with a black pencil skirt for the office and a sexy bustier dress for an evening out with your man! They are dramatic and sexy and  hands down one pair of shoes that every girl should own.

Bright Pumps: J.Crew’s infamous color schemes have won my heart yet again this spring; with incredible prints and patterns all in a world of color! Try this look against some white jeans for maximum pop or don with matching pants from the same collection.Cut Out Wedges: Jill Stuart has showed us that a wedge could balance just fine with this architecturally sound design. Wear these incredible works of art and show off your sense of style and balancing abilities all in one step!

Mesh Heels: Love this trend! J Mendel’s designs have captured my heart with these perfectly feminine styles that showcase a peep through mesh in classic black and white. Perfect for the office and even better for going out!

Metallic Oxfords: Dress things up with a little glitz and glam like the girls from the Karen Walker spring ’14 show. What a great way to update your look with a shiny metallic finish combined with an organic wooden sole. Try these on with a pair of black cords for a fun mixed textured look. These lend themselves really well to the menswear for women trend I wrote about.

Ladylike Pumps: Leave it to NY designer and queen of color Kate Spade to design the perfect ladylike pump this season. With decorative soles complete with chain embellishments, bows and of course polka dots, you will be a standout in these while still adhering to classical style.

What’s your favorite style? Tell me in the comments!

Scenes from the Chanel Shopping Center Runway

March 4th // Comment Here

He outdoes himself at every show! Karl Lagerfeld created a Chanel supermarket for the Fall 2014 runway at the Grand Palais during Paris Fashion Week and I am blown away by everything from the meat-packaged bags to the iconic CC emblazoned breads. Not to mention the stunning clothes, which featured monochrome separates, cinched waists, signature tweed and those Chanel sneakers.

What do you think of the Chanel supermarket concept? Do you love the creative atmosphere or would you prefer a standard runway?

PHOTOS: H&M Studio’s Fall 2014 Runway Show

February 27th // Comment Here

H&M sent a sexy and “seasonal collection of key pieces” down the runway yesterday, after renaming it to H&M Studio due the upgrade in fabrics and craftsmanship the line offers. Models strutted down the catwalk in sweater dresses, silk slips, over the knee boots, oversized coats, jumpsuits and more. Classic and feminine with a touch of masculinity seen in the shearling moto jackets, trousers and a few blazers. See my favorites from the show below!

London Fashion Week Favorite: Burberry A/W 2014

February 17th // 2 Comments

Christopher Bailey’s A/W 2014 for Burberry designs just debuted during London Fashion Week – with model Cara Delevingne leading the way! - and it compliments his menswear collection perfectly (you can see some of those looks here). Both lines featured completely wearable silk florals, however we also saw gorgeous tribal prints, sheepskin throws and belted scarves from his women’s ready to wear collection, lending itself a more updated, 70s feminine feel.

Kendall Jenner Models for Marc Jacobs at NYFW

February 14th // 1 Comment

I am so proud of Kendall Jenner and the modeling career she is building for herself – at only 18 she has accomplished so much and has earned every bit of her success. The 18-year-old reality star, designer and model recently sat down with Into the Gloss to discuss her much-talked about appearance at the Marc Jacobs show, where she walked the runway in a sheer top, wig and bleached brows. Social media went crazy after the photos appeared, with her Kardashian sisters taking to Instagram to show their support! Get the scoop below!

On walking for Marc Jacobs: I just recently turned 18, so this [Marc Jacobs show] is my big kick-off to start and grow my career. The New York fashion scene is crazy, madness, but I love the energy. I love everything about it — like the hair and makeup today, it’s incredible.

On her NYFW debut: I’m a little nervous for the show, but I’m really excited. It’s my first runway show, so I’ve been practicing. I feel like everybody has their own individual walk, and that’s what makes someone so special. Maybe I’ll run down the runway!

On her nails: I’m not really into my nails as much as my little sister, Kylie. She goes, like, crazy and has the longest nails with sharp points. It’s nuts, but she loves it, so more power to her. I sometimes like a bright color, but my go-to colors are nudes or a dark grey.
