It’s Fashion Week in Paris! The Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture collection revealed statement hardware and hairpieces mixed with beautiful draping, embroidered flowers and lots of lace. Bold washes of color were also peppered throughout in an extravagant fashion, the gowns a true reflection of old school haute couture. “It’s all about the waist,” Valli told Vogue, defining a woman’s waist adds wearability and a flattering silhouette to the designs.

Glam cowgirl at Balmain? I’m loving the glitz added to these western separates – the cropped jackets! the minidresses! the statement belts! Gorgeous. It’s 26-year-old Olivier Rousteing’s first collection at Paris Fashion Week since he took over for Christophe Decarnin and I think he did a fantastic job. Leaves me wishing for spring…

Flamenco dancer meets gypsy princess walked down the runway at Missoni spring 2012 in Milan. The oversized jewelry, floral heels, fringe scarves and endless ruffles may not work all together in real life but it made for a great show! I can see myself picking up a few of these pieces to add a free and fun vibe to my wardrobe next spring. What do you think of this bold and bright collection?

If you felt intimidated by the abundance of see-through fabrics this summer, you have the entire winter to get used to it because sheer is here to stay! Sheer has been all over the spring runway during New York Fashion Week, most notably at Vera Wang. A soft color palette with a few brights and watercolor patterns thrown in for good measure, the collection is chic and feminine as ever.

A departure from the bright runways we’ve been seeing this New York Fashion Week, Helmut Lang’s spring collection is easy on the eyes with a black, white, gray and yellow color palette. Black and white, asymmetrical cuts, cropped jackets (and seriously toned stomachs!) were key trends at this show.
