With the holidays right around the corner, traveling is going to become second nature to us all. Traveling can be fun, but the planning and packing usually don’t have the same effect. Packing is always a stressful task, even worse if you don’t have luggage that fits everything you need (or think you need but probably don’t, but absolutely have to bring anyway). Here are a couple of luggage pieces that help me be neat and organized during the packing process:
Big and expandable:
Diane von Furstenberg Signature Six 29″ Expandable Rolling Suitcase, $173.95 at Shoebuy.com
Interior and exterior pockets:
Villa Boarding Tote, $475.00 at Tumi
Packs flat and perfect for toiletries:
Hanging Organizer, Vera Bradley $28-$48.00
Safe travels, everyone, and I hope these options make your packing just a little bit easier!

I think social networking is such a great way to keep in touch. With Twitter, Myfashioncents.com and Facebook I have become addicted to keeping myself in the loop while traveling or when I’m really busy! Fashionwise, here is a list of the top 5 feeds I can’t live without -
@AdrianaCastro: My dear friend and genius handbag designer Adriana Castro
@CSiriano: Christian Siriano, arguably the fiercest (and smartest and funniest) winner of Project Runway
@Luxury_Fashion: A great mix of fashion news from the uberchic folks at Net-a-Porter.com
@Sartorialist: Up-to-the-minute, on-the-street trends captured by a fantastic photographer
@Saksfifthavenue: So when the sales hit at Saks, I’ll be ready!
And of course, there’s me: @lorenridinger or @myfashioncents
Who do you keep up with on Twitter?

She’s a trendsetter, a writer and lives in NYC… who could I possibly be referring to? Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw, of course! For those of you who are fans of the stylish Sex and the City girls, here is a tidbit of info that will (hopefully) tide us over until SATC2 comes out: Candace Bushnell, author of Sex and the City, is publishing a book about Carrie Bradshaw’s high school days! I can’t wait to read about Carrie before she was dressing in designer duds.

The Louis Vuitton-inspired cover art is genius!

There are a lot shopping and fashion applications you can download from iTunes that will let you stay up-to-date on designer news, trends and coupon codes. But I think the Mardo’s Fashion Trivia app for your mobile phone is just plain fun. When you use Mardo’s Fashion Trivia you can test your style skills and find out if you are the Ultimate Fashionista.
There are hundreds of fashion-related questions that will keep you highly entertained!

I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with Marsha Welcher, designer of Thayer. The line incorporates comfy fabrics with a romantic-edgy style. Almost the entire line of dresses, tops and bottoms can be found at Shopbop.com, with select pieces at Barney’s and various boutiques all over the world. Her designs have even been used on the stylish set of the hit television show, GossipGirl! Check out the interview here:
