Market America World Conference Day 3 in Altuzarra and Gianmarco Lorenzi

The last day of our 2012 Market America World Conference here in Miami went better than I could have wished for! My brother and VP of Internet Marketing Steve Ashley and I were on stage for almost two hours talking about my favorite things – social media and online shopping – shop.com and Market America are leading the parade in the social shopping revolution. After a last minute game time decision, I went with this gorgeous white Altuzarra dress for our presentation. Thank you so much for the sweet compliments on Facebook and Twitter about the dress after reading them I knew I made the right choice for my Day 3 look.

I did wear these gorgeous Gianmarco Lorenzi platforms but took them off halfway through while I was on stage – they look great but don’t feel that great :)

What an incredible weekend with my Market America family – see you in August for our 20th Annual Market America International Convention at headquarters in NC! xo

Motives Booth Makeovers with La La Anthony

Market America World Conference has been such a blast and I am so glad La La Anthony is a part of it this year. Everyone is extremely supportive and super excited about the new Motives for La La collection so the two of us surprised the Motives booth this afternoon and played with our makeup – La and I were having such a blast! While chatting with fans, taking pictures and giving makeovers with Motives for La La products, we had some fun with the cameras and wanted to share:)

Day 1 and 2 of 2012 Market America World Conference have been incredible so far but Saturday is my favorite at each event and is always so much fun; day 3 will be packed with information, fantastic presentations and special guests. I’m off to rehearse for my social networking presentation that is tomorrow morning with my brother VP of Internet Marketing Steve Ashley have a great night and rest up for the last day of 2012 Market America World Conference! xoxo

Black and Gold for MAWC 2012 Opening Day

Wow what an incredible opening day for 2012 Market America World Conference! My dear friend La La and I officially launched Motives for La La this morning to a packed house at the American Airlines Arena and we are beyond thrilled because everyone is in love with the new collection! Motives now has beauty for every shade and the line will only keep getting better. My lovely daughter Amber and her fiance Duane flew in from New York late last night for World Conference and it was amazing to spend time backstage with the two of them! Amber looked absolutely fabulous in a La Perla dress… and the diamond necklace that we share:)

I die for her clutch isn’t it the cutest thing?

Today’s look was a new Moschino dress – I kept getting so many tweets about my “bracelets” but they were embellishments on the dress! I paired the dress with gorge Charlotte Olympia gold platforms to match the gold in my dress. Still deciding what to wear for Day 2 tomorrow… will be trying out different looks tonight after our Motives Training! Xox

Ruthie Davis Spiked Sandals for MAWC Rehearsal

I wore them for Market America World Conference rehearsals this afternoon and the Motives meeting tonight, which was amazing and I’m so glad La got to come with me and talk a little bit about Motives for La La before the big launch tomorrow.

I’m sharing another personal story this month on Huffington Post, this time about my family and thoughts on whether someone can die of a broken heart. Here is an excerpt from “Can You Die from A Broken Heart?” click here to read my “Can You Die of A Broken Heart?” article in full. xo

Think about it: Can you die from a broken heart? I am not only speaking of a tragic breakup, although we all know that feeling. What about couples who have been together for so long, and one of them passes away? The pain can be so unbearable that their heart is broken, they lose their spirit and they pass away shortly after. I know this is true for my own grandparents.

They were in love for 50 years. She married at 15 years old, and she worshiped my grandfather. Although he was tough at times, they were the best of friends. Alzheimer’s disease slowly began taking her life and her memory at a young age; however, she never seemed to forget my grandfather. He had diabetes and lost his left leg and part of his right one. She insisted that she take care of him by herself in their home. I visited them often in Pompano and watched how she catered to and carried him in their home.

Last night I went to dinner with dear friends Kim Kardashian and Jonathan Cheban at Cipriani’s and wore my Moschino jacket and signature Loren Jewels hoop earrings. It’s been a great week in NYC I am so in love with New York the energy here is unlike anything else!! We are sad to leave my favorite city but it’s time to head back to Miami soon and begin getting ready for Market America World Conference – it’s right around the corner! xo

Such a fun interview to do with La La! Niki over at VibeVixen.com caught up with the two of us about Motives for La La, spring beauty trends and what it’s like to work with your friends. Check out our Vibe Vixen interview below:

Besties Loren Ridinger and La La Anthony decided to make beauty business their absolute pleasure. Joining forces to create Motives for La La, Loren Ridinger the the beauty line’s namesake believe they have finally nailed a collection that panders to women of color. The Black and Brown beauties of the world can now anticipate seven lipsticks, two eyeliners, two mascaras, five eye shadows, 12 lip shines, six blushes and one foundation quad that will pander to our varying complexions! The mineral-based products also cater to various skin types, from oily to extremely dry. VV caught up with the besties to get a scoop on the line which is set to launch in February.

VIBE VIXEN: Tell us about the photoshoot you’re doing for the line.

LA LA: We wanted to have photos to go with the launch and just show people how the makeup looks on skin. Also, we shot different models of all skin tones so that people can see it works for everyone, no matter what the complexion is. That’s the goal of the photoshoot and to see me in the makeup and how I look.

VV: Take us back. How did you become friends with Loren?

La La: We had so many mutual friends. Melo and myself are very close with Alicia and Swizz Beatz, and they’ve been very close with Loren and her husband for years. Kim Kardashian is also very close with her, and they’ve been friends for years. So all these people that kind of led us to them, and all these connections from different places. We would spend with our families [for Christmas], then at night, we all spend it with Loren and JR, her husband. Same thing with Thanksgiving, the next day we went to Miami and hung out with them down there. They’ve become a very important part of our extended family and its great to do business with someone that you’re that close with.

VV: One of the thing that’s often said is, ‘Don’t mix friendship and business.’ How well did you two work together?

LOREN RIDINGER: One of the things with La that I never seen with anybody else is that she is so motivated. She’s such a hardworking woman; she reminds me a lot of myself. She pushes me like, ‘Hey can we do this now? Can we do this now?’ Her enthusiasm is so contagious. It has been actually pretty simple. Of course, I tried to pull myself out of the deal-making part of it which is hard to do one when you’re one of the founders of the company. When it came down to whatever needed to be done, finalizing numbers and contracts, that’s where I put one of my vice presidents in charge.
