Two things stand out in my mind when I think back to Stella McCartney’s first collection for GapKids, which launched back in the fall – 1: the incredibly cute ad campaign featuring kids that were scouted on Facebook, and 2: the site of dozens of women size four and below trying to squeeze themselves into some of the pieces (you know who you are!). So with a second collaboration finally confirmed and set to hit stores in March, there are a few insider tips I thought I’d share for staying ahead of the frenzy. photo via Gap

  • If what you want is sold out online (which happened in a matter of hours last time) check your local Gap. They tend to hold onto their stock longer and have more deliveries.
  • Check the site early since new stock is usually available after 5 a.m.
  • If you are buying something for your son or daughter (and not yourself), then buy a size bigger than normal. Last season’s pieces ran a tad small and it’s always better to have a bit of growing room, especially with clothes this cute!

Happy shopping!

Love,

Loren

P.S. Stayed tuned for photos of the collaboration soon!

I finally pulled out my family’s winter sweaters from storage and, like every year before, we had a massive try on to see what’s going to Goodwill and what works for another season. Between the things that no longer fit and just looked like they’d seen better days, we got rid of a lot (like three garbage bags full!). Now it’s time to restock! After hours and hours of digging I found great knits for the whole family that won’t break the bank.

Finding the right kind of children’s clothes (i.e, styles that happify you and your kid) can present a challenge. Too many graphics? Too babyish? Too grown up? I’m happy to report that I’ve discovered a few updated brands that get the balance just right: TeaCollection.com, Beall’s and The Children’s Place.

I was recently hunting for a last minute baby shower gift and was looking through the adorable Stella McCartney for Gap collection (that I mentioned last week) when I got completely sidetracked by the chain’s home collection. I went a little nuts and put together a cute Safari-themed gift set – all for under $100! I highly recommend taking a look, even if just for the moment of “awe” you get from looking at the selection of adorable mobils.
