Plus-Size Designer Duds Coming to Saks Fifth Avenue!

July 27th // 2 Comments

As of right now, the largest size available by a high-end designer at Saks Fifth Avenue is a 10. Come fall, that is all about to change! Labels like Chanel, YSL, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen and Fendi will be offering pieces up to a size 14 or possibly a 20.

The downside is that these items will only be available in New York – however, if all goes well you might see plus-size designer duds in Saks‘ all over the country in the future!

What do you think? A step in the right direction?

Love,

Loren

How to Update Your Plain White Tee

December 1st // Comment Here

As easy and comfortable as it may be to pair your favorite white t-shirt with jeans, it is a lot more fun to mix it up with a statement mini. It’s one of my favorite simple and sexy outfits right now.

Target

Target, Pocket V-Neck Tee $8.00

These are my suggestions for the perfect mini to go with your tee:

Arden B

Arden B, Exposed Zipper Floral Skirt $44.00

Torrid

Torrid, Black and Gold Animal Spot Ruffled Miniskirt $34.00

If you get a little chilly, these skirts look great with tights!

Love,

Loren

Fit for a Queen

October 28th // 2 Comments

I’ve always admired Queen Latifah’s ability to make clothes work for her—while still looking fashionable and amazing. So I recently took a moment to figure out how exactly she pulls it off. Here’s what I came up with:

One:

It’s all about the waist! Don’t hide in drapey clothes that hang straight from your shoulders to your knees. Look for pieces that define your natural waistline.

Two:

Jeans are tough no matter what your size, but a perfect-fitting wide-leg jean is always key. Make sure you have a snug fit through the butt and that the legs have a slight a-line (not flare!) cut.

Three:

Always opt for the knock-out evening dress. Show off those shoulders and highlight those curves. Just be sure to watch the fit. Too tight will only make you look uncomfortable.

Do you have any foolproof rules to dressing for your body? I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Lots of love,

Loren
