JCPenney pulls “Too Pretty to Do Homework” shirt

More than 1,600 outraged customers signed a petition today in regards to a t-shirt that read “too pretty to do homework so my brother has to do it for me.” The tee was available exclusively at jcpenney.com for $9.99 and aimed at the 7-16 age range. Consumers claimed the tee was “sexist” and promoted looks over brains in young girls. A spokeswoman for JCPenney, Ann Marie Bishop, told ABC News:

“We’ve immediately discontinued sales of that T-shirt. It was only online. We agreed that the shirt does not deliver an appropriate message.”
