July 11th // Comment Here

Given the economic climate, even designers are feeling a little more conservative these days: Menswear color trends for spring are, we’ll admit, pretty subdued. The bright exception? A hit of pink (yes, pink) on cardigans and dress shirts. Here, what to add to your shopping list:

Lifestyle – What to serve at all your parties this summer

July 11th // Comment Here

Our friend Michelle is one of the hippest and most charming hostesses we know. For her recent birthday, she invited 75 friends – women only – to her New York apartment for cocktails at 7:30. Not that we don’t all love the men in our lives, but it turned out to be a wonderful idea; guests were still dancing and chatting away happily at 1am. Part of the magic was this refreshingly light, couldn’t-be-simpler summer cocktail: Fresca, vodka and cranberry juice.

Sur la Table offer the perfect accouterments for serving it up – brilliantly low-priced glasses with a fun, modern shape:

Cosmopolitan Cocktail Glasses, set of 4, $11.50, Sur la Table

Now it’s your turn: What’s your favorite summer cocktail recipe?

Men’s Fashion Tips – Cottom Suit and Cotton Tie

July 10th // Comment Here

We love suits made of Italian, summer-weight wool. But when it comes to the real dog days of July and August, cotton keeps you cool like nothing else. With a tailored chino suit like this one from J.Crew and a crisp cotton tie, there’s no reason to stay in the shade.

Everything on offer is nicely minimalist yet masculine: basically, all the cool things you’d pick up on a vacation to Bali, Greece, Morocco or Mexico, had you actually gone to any of these places and found the grooviest shops. If you’re not sure how to mix everything together, just catch one of Nate’s appearances on HSN. He’s one of the most telegenic people we’ve ever met, and makes decorating seem cool and manly.
