Motives Beauty – Using a Quality Brush

Not investing in quality makeup brushes is like cheating yourself out of a flawless, fabulous, finished look.

After using a high quality bush, makeup applications will last longer, which is important for us girls on the go. Using the appropriate eye shadow brush will allow you to keep up with the latest looks and trends.

Keeping cosmetic brushes clean is just as important as using them appropriately. Clean brushes help to prevent buildup, breakouts, and allows for easier application because product does not stick to an oily brush. You can wash your Motives brushes with soapy water. If blemishes are a concern, you can use an antibacterial soap, or sanitizer. After washing your brushes, reshape them and lay flat, so that they dry appropriately and maintain their correct shape.

Motives Beauty – Choosing the Right Shade For Your Lips

We all have them. Some are big, some are small. Some are dark some are light. Some are plump, some are thin. Lips. It is a common misconception that everyone wants Angelina Jolie’s lips. Some people might want to lose some of the plump in their pout. Here are some great tips to help deflate the pout in your lips and provide your lips with another completely different look! Be bold and don’t be afraid to try something different with your look!

To make lips look fuller:
Apply a lip gloss to the middle of the bottom lip. This brings them out, making them appear larger. Also use a lighter shade, bringing light to the lips.

To make lips look thinner:
Use a darker shade when choosing colors. Deeper shades cause the lips to look smaller. Also, steer clear of shiny glosses. Use Matte shades to ensure you are not bringing attention to the size you are trying to diminish

Motives Beauty – Mascara Magic

We were not all lucky enough to have been born with lush lashes like some people. Keep your lashes looking thick, long and luscious with products designed to bring out the best in them. Motives Beauty – The Day to Night Transition

For many busy women who have a life after the sun goes down, transforming the make-up can be a pain. Follow these tips to help tarnsform yourself from busy career woman, to late night diva!

1. Highlight around your definition points on the face. Ex. cheekbones, forehead, nose. I like the Motives® Loose Mineral Shimmer Powder “Gold Dust” or the highlighting color quad in “You Glow Girl”. This will put a light shimmer to add that extra elegant touch.

2. Apply a dark shade of eyeshadow to the back corner of the lid into the crease of each eye. (My choice would be the Motives South Hampton shade for the super smoky look).

3. Use the same shade of dark or black eyeshadow to create a more dramatic line around the eye and you can smudge this to create a sultry appearance. (depending on your prefered look, I would either stick with the “South Hampton” shade, or darken it up a bit with either dark denim or a Motives’ gel eye liner in “Rockstar” or “Little Black Dress”.)

4. Attempt to deepen your lipstick from the day. You can achieve this by applying a lip liner that is a shade or two darker than your daily. Mix well. Finish off the lip look with a super shiny gloss. The gloss will make you stand out in a crowd!

Loose, natural waves for long hair

Apply Royal Spa® Soft & Elegant Moisturizing Cream onto damp hair. (This will help smooth and control flyaways).

Next, blow dry your hair using a round brush to add the extra volume. Finish the look by curling the front part of your hair away from your face with a large curling iron.
