How to wear boyfriend jeans

August 19th // 1 Comment

Don’t let the comfort of slouchy boyfriend denim turn you into a slob. The whole appeal is to seem as though you grabbed his pants on the way out the door but still manage to look feminine and sexy. So… make sure to bring the feminine and sexy next time:) Here, a great example of how to wear the boyfriend jean with 100% girl details:

Spring 2009 Trend Alert – Harem Pants

December 31st // 5 Comments
With the new year upon us, it’s time to start thinking about our spring wardrobes. I was lucky enough to get a first look at what new trends will be cropping up in ’09 when I attended New York Fashion Week this past Fall. While I loved a lot of what I saw, (i.e. tropical prints; bodysuits; voluminous, flowy, femenine sillhouettes) there were some trends I’ve still been trying to digest–namely, the return of the harem pant. Everyone from Michael Kors to Betsey Johnson to Diane Von Furstenberg showed this trend on the runway. Though I do like the sillhouette, my main concern is that this would be a tough look for a curvy woman to pull off. Much like the boyfriend jean, this look requires balance proportion for those of us who aren’t 6’1 billowy supermodels ;)
Curvy gals, if you dare try this trend, be sure to add heels and a fitted top, just so you won’t get lost in all that fabric!

Would You wear this trend? Keep checking back, as I’ll be posting more Spring ’09 fashion trends and tips.

Love,
Loren

Fashion Tips – Boyfriend Jeans

December 4th // Comment Here

For the past 2 years, denim was all about clean washes–no embellishments. Now, the big trend in the denim market is distressed boyfriend jeans. Celebrities like Katie Holmes, Victoria Beckham, Reese Witherspoon, and Lindsay Lohan…just to name a few, have been rocking this trend. From Premiun denim brands like the newly launched Current/ Elliot to mass brands like Bongo and Levis are all showing their take on this trend. So if you are one to follow trends, make sure you choose your pair wisely. Go for a style that flatters your body. Baggy jeans can add bulk and make you look frumpy and heavy. Go for styles that are not too oversized, add heels, and a fitted top to balance out your proportions.

Ron Herman
has a great selection of premium distressed jeans, but my favorite pair has to be Levis 501 boyfriend jeans available for $78.
