Shop to Support Hurricane Sandy Relief

November 6th // 4 Comments

Witnessing the devastation along the East Coast first hand from our home in New York City has made the relief effort even more important to me. While in London for Motives I have been researching ways to help Hurricane Sandy victims and discovered that a number of retailers are donating proceeds to assorted charities and the America Red Cross. Check out the list below of brands offering shoppers the opportunity to help and tweet me @lorenridinger with any others I should add.

All About Accessories: Sequence Collection with Ariela Suster

October 3rd // 2 Comments

Amber and I fell in love with this unique accessories line developed by former fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar, Ariela Suster. Sequence blends Central American influence with high fashion for an exotic and unique piece of jewelry that you can’t take your eyes off of! Since I tend to wear a lot of black, a collection that is all about bold color is just the thing to spice things up. And you know how I always say fashion should feel good, not just look good? You can definitely feel good about coveting a cool item from Sequence as each purchase is made in El Salvador and can help change the lives of young people living in risk communities there.

As an entrepreneur, I have nothing but respect for a woman who wants to honor her roots and heritage through art. Below are my personal favorites: chunky necklaces and mixed media bracelets. Check out the entire Sequence collection for yourself at shopsequencecollection.com!

Motives Cosmetics for the Early Detection of Breast Cancer

October 2nd // 6 Comments

As women, breast cancer effects us all. Everyone knows someone who has suffered, and following the discovery of a rare Phyllodes tumor in my breast last year, the cause is more important to me than ever. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, my makeup line Motives Cosmetics will donate $1 per Motives Mineral Lipstick in Aware sold to Earlier.org.

Earlier.org is an amazing organization whom we also partnered with last year and it is an honor to work with them again; I fully support their mission for early detection. On behalf of Motives Cosmetics and Earlier.org I want to thank everyone for helping us spread awareness about saving lives through the early detection of breast cancer with the purchase of a beautiful pink lipstick. It is appreciated more than you can know. xo

Kellie Pickler Shaves Her Head for Cancer Awareness

September 5th // 3 Comments

I think this is a truly beautiful thing! Kellie Pickler debuted a new haircut on Good Morning America today: a completely shaved head. Kellie’s best friend Summer Holt Miller was recently diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36 and the singer chopped her locks to show support during Summer’s chemotherapy treatments. Both women released a statement saying, “Cancer does not discriminate. If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it.”

I am praying for Summer and I think it is amazing that Kellie Pickler shaved her head for breast cancer awareness. To learn more about Summer and her journey, click here.

Amber Ridinger in Huffington Post for Make A Wish

April 25th // 1 Comment

My beautiful daughter Amber Ridinger and her fiance Duane McLaughlin recently attended an event for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida hosted by Al and Nancy Malnik. The annual spring garden party – now featured in the Huffington Post – is held every year before the Make-A-Wish Ball. We have been involved with Make-A-Wish for many years and it’s a cause very close to our hearts.

I love this look Amber put together for the Make-A-Wish party! The white Gucci looks fabulous on her plus a pop of color with those Christian Louboutin platforms.
