Fashion Week in Paris was so much about opulence and elegance. It is so inspiring to see top fashion designers and models in one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. Designer houses that have been around for decades, Christian Dior, Chanel, YSL, Christian Lacroix, all showed their collections for Fall 2009. In this economic climate it was all about creating new designs that reference the true essence of what these brands were known for- ultra luxurious, incredibly well made clothes, made with the most exquisite fabrics and impeccable structure and details. Trends and News – Incredibly Shrinking Sunglasses

After years of watching the size of sunglasses explode into near bug-eye proportions, I’m happy to see the trend take another, more manageable turn this season. The relaunch of Ray-Ban’s iconic Clubmaster sunglasses has spawned a rather devoted following in no time flat with their colorful array of small, gold-rimmed frames—Diane Kruger and Chloe Sevigny have both been sporting a pair. And already, the trend seems to be exploding: Linda Farrow has a gold-platted version that takes the look in a more sophisticated direction, while Dior’s boxy style gives it a sporty edge. It’s okay to own multiple pairs of sunglasses, right? Because there’s no way I could possibly pick just one, right?

Yves Saint Laurent – “Fashion changes, Style remains”

On Sunday, famed fashion icon, Yves Saint Laurent passed away at the age of 71. Yves Saint Laurent was a young child prodigy responsible for taking the reigns of Christian Dior at the age of 21 and resurrecting their business.

Saint Laurent pushed the envelope with his innovative and shocking designs. Yves Saint Laurent was responsible for many of the outfits we wear on an everyday basis. Without his vision, we wouldn’t have a lot of the items that we have worn at some point in our lives. Items such as the pea jacket, bubble dress, or the woman’s pantsuit, that helped revive fashion in France and ultimately the world.
