I was so thrilled to see Nicole Richie’s curated collection for Joss & Main! I love Nicole’s sense of classic glam and I couldn’t be more excited that she’s showing off her interior design aesthetic too. Her picks for the Joss & MainHolidays in Style collection range from Moroccan poufs to luxurious fabrics and modern mirrors. Mixed in with the classic pieces like velvet side chairs and ikat rugs, is a nod to her playful, witty side with owl statues.
Arriving just in time for the holidays and playing on Nicole’s love of hosting a good party, the collection was handpicked by the celeb herself. Nicole’s fab style is evident in her fashion lines for House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate, and that boho-chic style is mimicked in her curated collection for Joss & Main. “Our house is the one people come to hang,” she told InStyle – and it’s obvious through the comfy couches, clean lines and touches of glam. Have you checked out Nicole’s curated collection for Joss & Main?

It’s an absolute thrill to see Marilyn Monroe as the new face of Chanel No. 5! The blonde bombshell was quoted years ago, saying that the fragrance was the only thing she wore to bed, and from that moment on, it was Chanel No. 5 and Marilyn forever. Fifty-one years later, the sex symbol has become the new face of the fragrance.
Marilyn Monroe: The New Face of Chanel No. 5
“You know, they ask me questions. Just an example: ‘What do you wear to bed? A pajama top? The bottoms of the pajamas? A nightgown?’ So I said, ‘Chanel No. 5,’ because it’s the truth… And yet, I don’t want to say ‘nude’. But it’s the truth!”
In a short commercial, Chanel has tied beautiful vintage footage with the sound of her voice, showing the LIFE photoshoot that made Chanel No. 5 as popular as it is today. Accessing lost audio footage, Marilyn’s interviews were the inspiration behind this lovely campaign.
What do you think of Marilyn Monroe as the face of this classic fragrance?

I was delighted to learn the latest news about the Kendall College of Art and Design at Ferris State University! The school, which is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, recently named its fashion program after designer Pamella Roland. (Roland’s designs have been a fave of mine for years!) Often spotted on the red carpet and worn by A-list celebs like Jennifer Hudson and Eva Longoria, Roland has been a New York fashion fixture for many years.
Who Wants to Attend The Pamella Roland School of Fashion?
Roland, who is a Michigan State alum, recently donated $1 million with her husband to help kickstart a fashion program at the school. When asked about the new venture, Roland was optimistic – saying the program is “poised to take off…we are thrilled to be participating at the ground level.” Are you as excited as I am to see the newest fashion talent that emerges from the Pamella Roland School of Fashion?

I was so excited to learn about the latest upcoming Target designer collaboration set to hit stores in 2014! Peter Pilotto and Target are teaming up to bring us the best of Peter Pilotto’s swimwear and apparel. I am pretty excited about this one – and have my calendar ready for February 9 – when the line will be available both online and in Target stores. And, (bonus!) Target is also linking up with my fave, NET-A-PORTER.com to carry a small selection of the limited-edition Peter Pilotto for Target items. (That means the collection will be available internationally!)
“By working with Target, we’re able to broaden our reach and bring our design aesthetic to an entirely new audience,” said Peter Pilotto of the new collection.
The new collection is said to include Peter Pilotto’s signature prints, draping and sculptural shapes in reds, blues and greens. From dresses to skirts, swimwear and accessories there’s nearly 70 items in the collection ranging from $14.99 to $79.99 and all are meant to be mixed and matched.
Check out this video for a sneak peek! Are you as excited as I am about this upcoming collaboration?
