My Picks for Golden Globes Fashion

Who else watched the Golden Globes over the weekend? Honestly, the celebrity outfits are my favorite part, but I was somewhat disappointed in the overall fashion on the red carpet this year. I did think Fergie looked amazing though! The lavender color and beaded waist look gorgeous on her. Purple was huge on the red carpet at this event!

I also thought Drew Barrymore’s dress was like a work of art – except for the extra piece on the hip! Sort of ruined the whole look for me.

Penelope Cruz won Best Dressed on E! Fashion Police last night… what do you think? Agree/disagree?

And for the worst dressed… E! voted for Tina Fey. I have to say – I thought the bodice looked great on her frame, however, I find the length and bottom of the dress unattractive.

The Skin:

It’s always a better idea to use powders, as opposed to pencils, for this, as the latter tends to be too harsh. Sexy red lips, never go out of style. And this spring this trend seems to be favored by celebrities for red carpet events. Recently celebrities like Drew Barrymore and Sienna Miller rocked red lips. Drew wore a black and white dress with a pop of red in her shoes and her lips, and Sienna Miller went for a red lip with a red dress.

Trends and News – Mermaid Style at the 2009 Golden Globes

Last nights 2009 Golden Globes were nothing short of spectacular. While Mickey Rourke capped the night off with a career comeback in the ring for his role in The Wrestler, it was Kate Winslet who stole the show, winning the award for best actress in a drama for her role in Revolutionary Road. Winslet also went on to win the award for best supporting actress in a drama for The Reader as well. Out on the red carpet, we saw a fish out of water, with the mermaid dress, which was worn by a host of celebrities.

If you aren’t familiar with the mermaid dress. The mermaid dress is close fitting through the bodice, down through the hips and to about the mid or lower calve, where the skirt then flares out. This is a sexy body hugging style at its finest.

Stars like Eva Longoria, Drew Barrymore and the gorgeous Kate Beckinsale chose this style to show off their toned physique. See a few variations on the mermaid style seen at the 2009 Golden Globes for less after the jump.
