You all may remember the Python Loren Hobo bag that I was giving away a few weeks ago to one lucky reader. Well, my good friend, Eva Longoria just sent over a few pics of her with another great bag, the Lizard Annie Clutch — a classy yet chic-looking clutch by handbag designer, Adriana Castro. If I had to pick, I’d definitely get both of them — one for carrying around when I’m out during the day and the clutch for more intimate affairs. Okay, so maybe I’m biased, but could this woman look any more gorgeous here? Sigh. I’m particularly enamored with this Diane von Furstenberg dress – the black jersey looks sleek and minimalist, but the front-and-back keyhole cutouts give it an amazing edge.

Eva’s dress isn’t for sale in stores yet, but you can work the same luxe, high-drama vibe in von Furstenberg’s curve-hugging matte jersey sheath (below), $207 at net-a-porter.com – a perennial MyFashionCents.com favorite.

Instant Obsession – Karen Millen

This week’s Instant Obsession comes courtesy of my good friend, Eva Longoria. When we met for lunch the other day in New York, she was wearing the most gorgeous dress – one that you’d want to wear everyday this spring. “It’s from Karen Millen,” she told me. “You’ve got to go to her store downtown – you’ll love it!”

Millen’s already a design star in Europe (see her latest collection on karenmillen.com); in the U.S., she sells her line through her own eponymous boutiques. (Find one near you on Millen’s website.) What I love most about her designs is that they’re sophisticated, exceptionally flattering and not too revealing – yet still completely sexy. Here are three of my favorite looks from the spring collection. Buy just one of these pieces and I bet you’ll wear it to death:

Men’s Fashion Tips – NBA Code

With the NBA playoffs upon us, a shout out to current commissioner David Stern for creating the official NBA Dress Code a few years back! Let’s review the commandments:

  • Players are required to wear “business casual” attire (dress pants, dress shirt and presentable shoes and socks) whenever they’re engaged in team or league business.
  • Players who attend a game must also wear a sports coat.
  • Forbidden items: sleeveless shirts, shorts, headgear of any kind, chains or medallions and (a fashion-editor favorite) sunglasses while indoors.

Basically, Stern’s message is that if you’re a professional who’s scoring millions of dollars a year, you should dress like one.
