Last Year’s CFDA Winners, This Year’s Gap Collaborators
Gap’s Design Edition was started three years ago to help introduce up-and-coming, CFDA winning designers to a larger audience. This year’s team—Alexander Wang, accessories designer Albertus Swanepoel, and the duo behind Vena Cava—took on the challenge of reinventing the classic khaki. And the results couldn’t have been more, well, cool. There were high-waisted, pleated pants I’m dying to roll up and wear with killer heels, an easy, everyday fedora, and possibly the cutest zippered dress of all time. These pieces have already hit the web, but to thumb through all of the limited edition offerings—including some pretty irresistible motorcycle jackets—you’ll have to venture out to the nearest Gap.
There’s something so islandy and happifying about a straw handbag. This season we struck gold: It’s hard to overstate our love for this roomy Lilly Pulitzer – it’s very ’70s Jackie O and goes with everything, from a shift and flat sandals to skinny jeans or floaty linen pants. And the charming metallic evening bag from Coach is something you’ll want to keep forever – just a great juxtaposition of modern and classic.
Tell us: Which one is your favorite?
Love,
Loren
