Sneak Peeks – Top 3 Looks From Paris

July 28th // Comment Here

Hot on the heels of my roundup of the best men’s fashion coming out of Milan for spring 2010, I bring you my favorite picks from Paris—from a new way to wear an old classic to the accessory every man (and maybe woman) needs to buy now.

Hermes: Who needs to know how to tie a tie anyway?
I for one love a man in a tie, even for a more casual look. It just reads confident, and well, sexy. So I immediately took notice of the way Veronique Nichanian was leaving ties loose and knotted on the runway for Hermes. Brilliant!

Louis Vuitton: Introducing the man-friendly fanny pack.
I don’t quite condone the cropped, patched pants, but I do give a hearty two thumbs up to the chic, attaches-to-your belt fanny pack. I see men walking around with everything from phones to sunglasses clipped to their belts—I would much rather see this!

Paul Smith: There’s nothing weepy about these pale baby blues.
It’s really rare to see something come down the runway and envision it exactly like that on someone else. Usually, I want to change the shirt or the shoes or tailor the jacket. But everything from the crisp slouch of the pant to the choice of an easygoing slide is just perfect.

Men’s Fashion Tips – Wristbands That Just Work!

July 15th // Comment Here

These are exactly the kind of tough, street-luxe accessories I love to see on a man in the summer. First off, a leather wristband or silver I.D. bracelet looks so good on a tan wrist. And, secondly, neither style makes you seem like you’re trying too hard.

Sterling ID Bracelet, $185, available at J.Crew

Smart Car – Eco-Friendly & Fashion Forward

December 9th // 3 Comments

[Via Luxist.com]

If you’re like me–constantly striving to achieve the ideal balance between living a “green” lifestyle and living fashion “centsibly”, then you may want to consider the Smart Car if you’re in the market for a new vehicle. Not only is this car eco-friendly; it’s also fashion forward and affordable!

Learn why after the jump…

The Mercedes-Benz owned company has recently teamed up with such designers as Swatch, Hermes, and Ed Hardy to create chic interior and exterior car options!

The Limited Edition Ed Hardy Smart Car (pictured above) was recently unveiled at the “When I Move You Move” lifestyle trade show in Las Vegas. The cars come only in white or black and are custom-built upgrades to a standard Smart Car that are autographed and numbered by designer, Christian Audigier.

Luxe luggage designer, Hermes, has also created a Limited Edition set of Hermes-lined Smart Cars to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Smart Fortwo.

The cars come in 10 colors including gold, indigo, and the Hermes orange. The exterior hasn’t been touched but inside there are leather-wrapped steering wheels and gear-shift covers and an interior covered in the Hermes’ signature canvas “toile H.” It’s not available in the U.S. yet, but it sells for €38,000 (around $48,500) through the Como dealership in Paris.

Swatch’s design, however, is available in the U.S.– and affordably priced at that!

Base models begin at $11,590, while a Fortwo Passion Coupe starts at $13,950 and adds goodies such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift paddles and sunroof. Three-thousand more gets you a Fortwo Passion convertible with soft-top that can be adjusted in multiple positions while driving at any speed.

There’s only one catch. If you want one, you have to reserve it online.

Check out Smart Car’s website for details, news, and to read about the fascinating environmental benefits that come with being a Smart Car owner!

Love,
Loren
