The fedora hat is a celebrity-favorite trend that has been around for a while now, and is still on the rise. I love the look of a cute fedora paired with shorts and flats for spring and summer.

Stars like Lauren Conrad, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba, and Brad Pitt are all avid fans of fedoras. Try pairing a dressier fedora, like the one Lindsay Lohan is wearing (above) with black leggings or skinny jeans for a night out on the town. While their logo may somewhat of an anomaly — given the type of products that they carry, don’t let it fool you! It is cute and catchy and over the past few month, has kept me coming back to their site! Despite having started only one year ago, celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson, even my close friend, Jessica Simpson all shop there for their unique and trendy tops and dresses, denim, even accessories like the friendship bracelet that Lindsay and Sam were recently seen wearing in an issue of People Magazine. The store I’m talking about is called Chickdowntown and it is fast becoming one of the top stores to shop at for designer fashion!

Friday the 13th kicked off another Fashion Week in New York, showcasing what will be hot in the coming Winter months. (I know, I know–Spring isn’t even here yet, but remember: In the game of fashion, it’s always important to stay ahead! ) Remember Charlotte Ronson? I wrote about her up-and-coming fashion line for JC Penney a few months back. Well, she definitely has been the talk of the town after her spectacular runway show last Friday. Everyone from Lindsay Lohan to Joy Bryant came out to support her. Here’s a clip of her Fall runway collection.
By the look of it, the skinny jean is here to stay–at least for another season. But the most notable piece, by far, were the boots – knee high boots with metal detailing at the ankles, some gathered at the knee and wide cuts at the ankle to take on a riding boot silhouette. Scrumptious.

If dresses aren’t your thing, you can put a different spin on the trend. Try pairing a watercolor inspired tee with a sheer or tye dyed scarf and distressed jeans for a casual take on the trend.

For the past 2 years, denim was all about clean washes–no embellishments. Now, the big trend in the denim market is distressed boyfriend jeans. Celebrities like Katie Holmes, Victoria Beckham, Reese Witherspoon, and Lindsay Lohan…just to name a few, have been rocking this trend. From Premiun denim brands like the newly launched Current/ Elliot to mass brands like Bongo and Levis are all showing their take on this trend. So if you are one to follow trends, make sure you choose your pair wisely. Go for a style that flatters your body. Baggy jeans can add bulk and make you look frumpy and heavy. Go for styles that are not too oversized, add heels, and a fitted top to balance out your proportions.

Celebrities like Chloë Sevigny, Vanessa Paradis, Drew Barrymore, Kirsten Dunst, and Lindsay Lohan have all been the face of Miu Miu at one time or another. Now, Katie Holmes seems to be joining the bunch.
Katie Holmes is rumored to be the next face for Miu Miu. Rumor has it that Katie will be in the Spring 2009 campaign.
