LFW Fall 2013: Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum is always one of the most anticipated shows at London Fashion Week and Christopher Bailey’s Fall 2013 collection didn’t disappoint. You can watch the full runway show for yourself in the video below and make sure to extra pay attention to next season’s twist on the iconic Burberry trench – I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these! The sheer rubber sleeves give the conservative piece a sexy-but-still-classy appeal.

LFW Fall 2013: Topshop Unique

I wish one of our trips to London had correlated with London Fashion Week because it would have been an amazing experience to attend a show. Topshop Unique debuted their new collection earlier today and posted a video of the runway on YouTube, though, so now we can all get a first hand look at what’s in store for Fall 2013: shiny skirts, patterned knit sweaters, sequins and neutrals. Oh, and it looks like this spring’s pastels will carry over into next season but in faux fur, statement outerwear, shirtdresses and pants.

The runway shows hit Milan today so I wanted to recap the best bags from London Fashion Week for spring 2013! If there’s one trend you take away for next season, it is to start matching your bag to your outfit! Such a chic, monochromatic look. My must-haves for spring 2013? Mulberry’s oversized envelope, Roksanda Illincic jewel tone clutch, JW Anderson’s quilted bag with ruffles and Burberry’s see-through structured satchel.

LFW: Prints and Patterns for Spring 2013

Being in London during London Fashion Week has been a completely different experience for me since we are usually in New York! I love seeing how the top trends vary from city to city and how it ultimately inspires my look for the upcoming season. I don’t wear a lot of mixed prints but the London Fashion Week runway looks at Topshop Unique, Preen, Matthew Williamson, Temperley London and Issa all have me thinking I might change it up for spring 2013! Paisley, floral, kaleidoscope – so many chic prints to chose from!

McQ by Alexander McQueen’s London Fashion Week debut was a breathtaking mix of tough girl meets romantic fantasy. Think structured coats, signature tartan, printed velvet and tulle skirts. McQ by Alexander McQueen also featured a few standout accessories for fall including waist-cinching belts, leather gloves and spectacular lace-up boots. The hair and makeup (or lack thereof) may be too extreme in real life however the beautiful pieces are definitely wearable straight off the runway.
