Celebrity Looks – Natalie Portman

The ever-classy, Natalie Portman is my inspiration behind today’s celebrity look for less. Natalie’s style is a great example of how to mix-and-match accessories the right way–by pairing complementary colors like plum and navy with two great neutrals–black and bronze (yes, metallics are neutrals!). Check out Natalie’s gorgeous, eye-catching ensemble.

Here are my picks to help you recreate Natalie’s look for less!
While Natalie’s dress costs hundreds. you can get a similar one for a mere $39 at New York & Company.

In the shoe department, shoes can range from under $50 into the thousands. I found these pumps for $50 at Piperlime.com ,and as always, shipping is free!
Add in a clutch, and you have completed Natalie Portman’s look for less! I found this great clutch for only $10 at Target.
Other than the attractive price tag, the great thing about these accessories, is that you can reuse them for different outfits.
Finally, tie-one-on with a satin ribbon. It’s a centsible solution to creating a belted-waist like Natalie’s. Hit up your local arts & crafts store, where you can buy ribbon by the yard, or save yourself the trip and get it online (Joann Fabric offers a variety of colors starting at $2.99!)
Simply wrap the ribbon around your waist, overlapping just enough to hem the edges so that they won’t fray and fold the end of the ribbon under (about 1/2 inch) and sew a line where you’ve folded. Finally, either pin or sew the belt on.

Fashion Tips – Capes Create Instant Glamour

Given the time of year, I’m sure many of you are in the market for new outerwear. Since outerwear is usually the finishing touch in putting together your fall/winter looks, you’ll definetely want to pick up a few versatile and stylish pieces to get you through the cooler months.
One of my favorite outerwear silhouettes is the cape. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jessica Simpson have been spotted out-and-about recently wearing this same look! Kim’s tweed cape is a good example of how to take a day look to night, and Jessica’s fur-lined look is super-glamorous and formal.
