After scoping out gq.com (you know, for men’s fashion advice…) I came across this picture and immediately thought what would my readers say about this? And I’m not talking about the polo shirt (which is Bottega Veneta and costs $540!).

The model’s All Saints $40 necklace is affordable, tarnished and rugged. Does that make a difference to you?

Introducing Figs, the New Neckwear Label for Men

There are two reasons I love Figs, an indie neckwear label out of Santa Monica. The first and most obvious reason being the entire collection is just plain cool: Polka dot bow ties, classic houndstooth, and summery knit ties. But what really turned my adoration from interested to head-over-heels obsessed is the philanthropy behind it. For each tie purchased, Figs donates a uniform to an impoverished child in Kenya and Tanzania so that they can attend school.

Prices range from $125 to $140 for ties, but when you factor in the cost of a child’s uniform, this price tag seems pretty reasonable to me. Check out the whole collection here.

Mad Men: The Fashion Label?

Rumors have been swirling that Janie Bryant, the stylist of the critically acclaimed Mad Men series—with the backing of AMC—is planning to roll out an entire fashion collection based on the 1960’s clothes worn by Don and Betty Draper on the show.

Well, it looks like the rumors are true and the first piece, a limited edition grey suit, is available at Brooks Brothers now. Critics seem skeptical about the endeavor, but I think it only makes sense. If designers like Michael Kors and Miuccia Prada are citing you as inspiration, why not launch something yourself?
