Heavy metal: the new metallic handbag

Summer is the time for light fabrics and beach totes but fall and winter are on the opposite end of that spectrum (unless you live on an island somewhere!). Basic, but never boring

There is a laundry list of staple pieces every woman should have in her closet. I’ve chosen my top 5 (a tank, blazer, pencil skirt, trench and nude pumps) and given you examples of how to spice them up a bit. Just because they’re basics doesn’t mean they should be boring! A little glam goes a long way.

A Look at Paris Fashion Week: Haute Couture 2010

Have you ever seen the film The Devil Wears Prada? Think back to the scene where Meryl Streep tells Anne Hathaway that her blue bargain bin sweater is a direct descendant of the cerulean blue featured on the runway. It’s very true – many of the deals and steals I write about here on MyFashionCents are somewhat inspired by the designs that make their way down the catwalk.
