For those of us who don’t look like a leggy Victoria’s Secret supermodel, we have to get creative. The wrong length or rise can ruin an entire look! Since I’m a shortie, I try to stick with three different outfit variations (+ ALWAYS a great pair of heels!) when getting dressed, making me look taller and my legs much longer. Here’s what works for me:
- Monochromatic colors make you look like one long, lean line. You can’t go wrong with a black pencil skirt from Topshop ($75), thick, black Wolford tights ($58) and a classic pair of black Louboutins ($825)
- High-waisted denim from J Brand ($285) paired with an espadrille wedge platform ($229) add serious inches to your lower half.
- Minimal always reminds me of Jennifer Aniston. She’s great at pairing a mini (€79) with nude sandals ($60). Just make sure the sandal does not have ankle straps! You never want to cut off your leg.

This pair of chunky, strappy Nine & Co. sandals from JCPenney will make your legs look a mile long… nothing compliments your tan like a sexy gold shoe:) And for $45 I’m not sure you’ll find anything better to get you through the summer!

When Eva came to visit for World Conference she was wearing a pair of nude stilettos that had a really interesting detail… they weren’t your average peep-toes! Instead, I noticed a small tear-shaped cutout at the very top, barely exposing any of her nail at all. You can steal Eva’s look for only $99 with these Sam Edelman slingbacks from Nordstrom:
What do you think of this new shoe trend?

When it comes to the real workhorses in my wardrobe, nude pumps loom large: They make my legs look longer and, by definition, truly go with everything.
While I wear nude-tone heels year-round, I all but live in them in spring and summer. If you’re wearing a bright dress (like Molly Sims here) or a vivid pattern and need something more formal than a metallic sandal that won’t compete with the rest of your outfit…

At first glance, new mama Sarah Michelle Geller’s outfit might seem kind of basic – but look closely – you can see a long, leopard print tank underneath that cropped sweater. A peek-a-boo print is one of my favorite ways to amp up an outfit… in addition to adding a pair of nude heels just like Sarah Michelle did!

Easy enough, right? Simple but still sexy! Oh, and for giving birth 6 months ago, doesn’t she look fantastic?!
