PFW: Half Up Hair at Hermes for Spring 2014

October 2nd // 1 Comment

Hermes is bringing back the half-up half-down hairstyle for spring! In classic Hermes fashion, the clean skin, bold brows and preppy hair exuded elegance and complemented the luxurious collection of flowing dresses, flattering jumpsuits and leather jackets. I love how Christophe Lemaire was able to mix the unexpected jewel tones with lush prints and jungle setting. Just gorgeous.

Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Haute Couture

July 10th // Comment Here

Giambattista Valle told Vogue that he was thinking of “porcelain goddesses” when planning this collection. And that’s exactly what the Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Haute Couture collection did, mixing fragile and delicate designs with menswear tailoring. I love the playful look of these pieces that Giambattista Valli has created and can definitely see people will start to embrace the blocks of color combinations for the upcoming season.

Elegant Daywear at Valentino Fall 2013 Couture

July 5th // 3 Comments

“We believe that couture can be a private luxury – not just for the red carpet or special occasions. So we wanted to really work on daywear for the first time.” Maria Grazia Chiuri told Vogue. And Valentino’s Fall 2013 Couture collection did just that, blending regal, renaissance-style designs with caped dresses and bold jumpsuits. I love the old-world-meets-modern-woman feel of these pieces and can see how many people will take this more sophisticated look to heart.

Maison Martin Margiela sent masked models down the runway at their Fall 2013 Haute Couture show wearing everything from jeans to evening gowns. The masks were made of flowers, crystals and even dripped paint, adding a touch of drama and mystery to what was largely a collection of simple separates.
