I wasn’t all that impressed with the Grammy Awards’ red carpet! The fashion was more… interesting (to say the least!) with Fergie in lace Jean Paul Gaultier couture, Katy Perry matching her blue dress to her blue hair, Nicki Minaj dressed as little red riding hood and singer Robyn in construction boot platforms. Did you tune in to the red carpet arrivals before the Golden Globes last night? I always watch the pre-show coverage on E! and from the second host Giuliana Rancic walked out in a nude Basil Soda dress, the Golden Globes red carpet trend for the evening had made itself known. Celeb after celeb arrived in neutral gowns in shades of beige, gold, blush and lavender that pooled at their feet and had a bit of sparkle. (Does Julie Bowen’s Reem Acra dress look familiar? It’s the same dress Amber wore to Kim’s wedding!) Which Golden Globes dress is your favorite?

The 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards gave really good red carpet – you can see more CCMA photos here – and there was one trend that appeared last night at The Hollywood Palladium. Yellow! This bright and sunny color looked gorgeous on three blonde actresses: Elizabeth Olsen in Emilio Pucci, Diane Kruger in Prada and Elle Fanning in Rodarte.
While all three donned yellow, Elle Fanning’s flowery Rodarte number is a miss for me this time around. What do you think?
Actress Angelina Jolie attended the LA premiere of her new film In the Land of Blood and Honey and looked stunning in a navy, one shoulder Romona Keveza gown and nude Jimmy Choos. Diamond studs, natural makeup and simple hair completed Angelina’s minimalist appearance. Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet with Brad Pitt but she clearly stole the show with this gorg red carpet look!
This look is all about the earrings! You can be a stunner on the red carpet without wearing millions of dollars worth of loaned jewels. The topknot hairstyle will show off my Yours by Loren black spinel and rosetone earrings (that only look super expensive!) for a bold and glamorous combination. I am obsessed with this one shoulder Elie Saab dress – the ruching is incredibly flattering and a gown is the go-to length for important red carpet events like the Emmys or the Oscars. Add a classic YSL platform (I have so many of these in every color) and beaded Judith Leiber clutch to tie in the black spinel earrings. Old Hollywood glam at its best…. love it. xo
