When I woke up this morning and saw on the news what had happened in Haiti, my heart just broke. Natural disasters, like this magnitude 7 earthquake, are the hardest to accept since we have no control over it. Fortunately, we do have control over the aftermath, and that is why it’s super important for everyone to reach out and do their part.

Get with your local Red Cross to find out how you can give supplies, clothing and food to those suffering in Haiti. At the moment, the best and fastest way to help is to donate money to the American Red Cross’s International Response Fund.

Here’s how: online at redcross.org, by phone at 1-800-REDCROSS or by mail at American Red Cross P.O. Box 37243 Washington D.C. 20013. You can also donate $10 by texting HAITI to 90999 – this will immediately go to the Red Cross and will be charged to your cell phone bill.
