Fall is finally here, and lately I’ve been obsessing over my favorite fall neutral–purple! The jewel-tone is just as hot this fall season as it was last, and it has been popping up everywhere: from makeup, to clothing, to my personal favorite: accessories.

In the past, purple wouldn’t have been considered a neutral, but the great thing about this color is that it seems to work well with just about any fall look.One word of advice though: never go head-to-toe purple! The key to wearing purple as a basic this season, is to either do it subtly, or as a complementing element to an outfit.

Pair a funky purple handbag or purple shoes with a monochromatic outfit (like black) or add a punch of color to your wardrobe in the form of blue-violet nail polish or a deep, plum-toned scarf/headwrap like the one by Lacoste seen here on the runway:
