Style Icon – Michael Jackson: The 80′s

August 1st // 1 Comment

Indisputably Michael Jackson’s greatest decade was the 80’s. It was a time of subtle reinvention for the star fashion-wise that built upon bold selections—that he stuck with. Uh-hem, a single white glove. Here’s a look at three of Jackson’s most famous looks of all time.

THE jacket that was so Bad, it was good. Who didn’t want this jacket when MJ first wore it? As a matter of fact…who still doesn’t want it now?

The looked that prompted stores to start packaging gloves in single-form, while still charging the same for a pair.

Before bondage pants and hardcore jackets became Goth, they belonged to Michael Jackson—and, somehow, they weren’t so scary.

Style Icon – Michael Jackson: The Beginning

July 31st // Comment Here

Raise your hand if you burst into tears when Michael Jackson’s daughter spoke at his funeral. Heart wrenching, wasn’t it? But instead of dwelling on the total sadness of this situation, I would rather take a few moments over the next few weeks to reflect on just how spectacular this man’s fashion sense was. There are trends today that you completely forget started with Michael Jackson. So, in loving memory of the King of Pop, here’s a little trot down MJ’s fashion catwalk through the ages. Starting, of course, from the beginning…

Before clothes became his thing, it was all about the hair:

Style Icon – Michael Jackson: The 90′s to now

These may have been Michael’s quieter years—in comparison to his proceeding decades—but that sentiment certainly didn’t translate to his clothing. MJ shed his hardcore Bad attire for a wardrobe of embellished-but-polished suits. Here, three of my favorite looks:

A perfect melding of military stylings and over-the-top studs. Love it!:

As subtle as I’ve ever seen him:

In a Balmain runway sweater that I wish I owned!:
