I freaked out when I saw this picture of Renee Zellwegger at the Berlin film festival – it’s the same fitted sheath that we’re used to seeing on her, but the sleeves channel a Renaissance princess and somehow take the whole effect to an edgier new place. The trick to pulling off a bubble sleeve is to keep the rest of your outfit quite simple: by virtue of their shape, the sleeves have a lot going on.

So, the bell sleeve: pro or con?

Shopping for cute baby clothes while pregnant is fun, but buying maternity clothes can be a whole different story. The stress of finding stylish, yet comfortable, clothing that will work through the bulk of your pregnancy can make you want to stay in your PJs for nine months. Don’t do it! Here are some alternative options I found that will take the guesswork out of purchasing belly-friendly pieces:
Michael Stars’ tees are a cult classic. Michael Stars Maternity Slub 1×1 Long Sleeve Tee $62.00
You can still rock leggings, just make sure that they have an extra stretchy stomach area so that the waistband isnt uncomfortable. A Pea in the Pod Secret Fit Belly Jersey Knit Must-Have Basic Slim Leg Maternity Legging $38.00

With the holidays right around the corner, a dress with clean lines is a must. Anything with an empire waist will allow room for growth. Gap Maternity Belted Cowlneck Dress $59.50
This dual-tone cardi is perfect for keeping you and your baby warm in the coming months. A Pea in the Pod Long Sleeve Empire Waist Maternity Cardigan $59.99

Not many people would turn to a kitschy 80’s comedy for style inspiration, but if you ask me, Ty Webb (Chevy Chase) and Al Czervik (Rodney Dangerfield) from Caddyshack are truly worth your admiration. Their quirky color combinations turned a wardrobe of uber-preppy staples into a fun fashion statement. So in the spirit of Mr. Webb and Mr. Czervik’s envelope-pushing style, I’ve pulled-together some items that will give your wardrobe a little dose of Caddyshack cool.

I just paid a visit to the gorgeously revamped Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach and fell in love with the 1940’s-style swimsuits worn by the poolside waitresses. They’re all dressed in black one-pieces worthy of Betty Grable, and look stylish and alluring without a hint of sleaze. Somehow, even with the extra coverage, every guy in a 100-foot radius is still staring at these women as if they were a new creation.
And today, leafing through British GQ, I learn that even bombshell Megan Fox is on the program.
Am I alone in loving this look?

In her latest movie, “The Proposal,” Sandra Bullock plays a publishing executive with killer instincts and an equally killer wardrobe. Exhibit A: The fitted tweed sheath she wears in the final scene (see below). It’s such a timeless, utterly feminine shape, and the origami detail at the neckline and the arc of the cap sleeves fly off the style charts – so pretty and modern. I haven’t found the exact dress just yet — let me know if you have any luck in this department! But in the meantime, I discovered some great options that share the same refined attitude and keep-it-forever appeal:
Everyone loves a good buy: No wonder Bloomingdale’s has zeroed in on Yoana Baraschi as one of fashion’s hottest new talents. The gorgeous, Romanian-born Baraschi – whose former life include stints as a sculptor, fashion illustrator and creative director for Betsey Johnson – rethinks basics in a cool, artful way (Sienna Miller, Rachel Bilson and Lauren Conrad are fans.) Can’t you see yourself in these?

Want to give new life to a summer dress or classic skirt and blouse combo? A hard-edged cage heel (the shoe of the moment) can ground your whole outfit. Choose a substantial shape to balance against more feminine pieces. Our favorites are actually quite walk-able, and look rich, sexy and cool in the heat.
