Fashion Week in Paris was so much about opulence and elegance. It is so inspiring to see top fashion designers and models in one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. Designer houses that have been around for decades, Christian Dior, Chanel, YSL, Christian Lacroix, all showed their collections for Fall 2009. In this economic climate it was all about creating new designs that reference the true essence of what these brands were known for- ultra luxurious, incredibly well made clothes, made with the most exquisite fabrics and impeccable structure and details. Take a look at some looks from these designers to get a fresh inspiration for the upcoming season. See more at Style.com!

On Sunday, famed fashion icon, Yves Saint Laurent passed away at the age of 71. Yves Saint Laurent was a young child prodigy responsible for taking the reigns of Christian Dior at the age of 21 and resurrecting their business.

Saint Laurent pushed the envelope with his innovative and shocking designs. Yves Saint Laurent was responsible for many of the outfits we wear on an everyday basis. Without his vision, we wouldn’t have a lot of the items that we have worn at some point in our lives. Items such as the pea jacket, bubble dress, or the woman’s pantsuit, that helped revive fashion in France and ultimately the world.

You can roam and roam but there’s no place like home! It’s nice to be back in Miami. Amber came home today from Los Angeles with Brooke Hogan (her best friend) and I was so excited to see her. She had only been gone for 4 days, but it was too long for us. We missed her so much. Then this evening we had this incredible dinner at Paulina Rubios house with Yehuda Berg. (he is the very spiritual Kabbalah teacher who married Madonna and Demi Moore) Much more than that, he is a man of knowledge and depth, and JR and I grow so much when he is around. I think he is going to come to leadership to experience the excitement of the Market America family…Paulina is coming for sure! When we came home I had noticed several things that had been sent over to me by many stores to borrow or buy for our event next week…(borrowing is great, when you have worn it out, you can send it back without any commitment, like a bad date:) Wow, the selection is overwhelming and extremely enticing. How can shopping and buying that hot new pair of almost sold out YSL shoes just brighten our day, change our mood and makes us happy? What’s the obsession…? JR and Andrew say “we understand it, but we don’t understand it.”
Mmmm…how do you explain how you feel in that fantastic dress, or that suit that makes you look taller and slimmer? Those gorgeous new RSVP cassidy eel-skin shoes that I can buy on Zappos for$69.95 and can earn 20% back…oooh I want them in every color (look-a-likes sell for over $300.00) . How about the incredible brown patent satchel at Target made by fabulous designer Loeffler Randall that only costs $49.99 but looks just like the one that she makes for the high end department stores that sells for over $600.00….Thats what I call the look for less….That feeling of getting a great deal..sometimes so good you can go broke buying them all:) But it feels soooo good…and it looks soooo good… Maybe JR won’t ever understand the obsession but that’s o.k….and with shopping this good, who needs to feel guilty….indulge…You work hard for the money.. and I don’t know about you, I like my money right where I can see it….hanging in my closet:)
