5 Steps to Prime Skin for Foundation

Foundation is my must have product for a flawless complexion but if you don’t prime skin properly, it can make your face look worse, not better. To achieve an airbrushed finish, how you prime skin for foundation is key. Below are the five steps my makeup artist taught me and now I’m sharing them with you! xo

5 Steps to Prime Skin for Foundation

  1. Start fresh. Cleanse the skin and go through your daily face wash routine
  2. Exfoliate. This will give you a smooth canvas and less-noticeable pores
  3. Moisturize. Don’t forget eye cream and SPF if your moisturizer or foundation doesn’t already have sunscreen in it
  4. Prime. Apply a primer to help even out skin tone, fill in lines and pores and create a barrier between your skin and makeup
  5. Apply! Using a stippling or foundation brush, buff foundation into the skin starting from the center of the face and work your way out
